RoofMap and Fergus, doing different jobs.

Fergus runs the business. RoofMap does the roof. If you already run Fergus, they pass work between them; if you do not, nothing here is missing.

RoofMap does not replace Fergus and does not need it. Fergus handles timesheets, invoicing and the job lifecycle. RoofMap measures the roof, counts the material and produces the customer proposal. Linked, jobs and photos come across and the finished job pack goes back.

What linking them actually does

  • Pick a Fergus job from inside RoofMap and it opens ready to draw, with the client and site already filled in
  • Fergus job photos appear in a side panel on the drawing screen, so you can compare the site photos against the roof as you trace it
  • Push the job pack back to the Fergus job as a PDF, where the crew already look for their paperwork

Fergus integration is on the Team plan and up, and in the free trial. Pricing.

If you do not run a job management system

Plenty of roofing businesses do not, and RoofMap is built to be complete on its own rather than half a product waiting for something else.

  • The home board is your job list — a column per stage, searchable by client, address or job number
  • Job files take the council plans, the old quote, the PDF the homeowner sent, all riding inside the job
  • Invoicing is built in, including the deposit going out on acceptance

When nothing is linked, the Fergus-specific buttons are hidden rather than sitting there greyed out. There is nothing to ignore.

Questions

The usual ones.

Do I need Fergus to use RoofMap?

No. RoofMap works completely on its own. The home board is your job list, job files hold the council plans and documents, and invoicing is built in. If nothing is linked, the Fergus-specific buttons are simply not there.

What passes between the two?

Jobs and their photos come across from Fergus, and the finished job pack goes back to the Fergus job as a PDF the crew can open. You quote in RoofMap and manage the work in Fergus.

Is RoofMap trying to replace Fergus?

No. Fergus handles timesheets, invoicing and the whole job lifecycle across every trade. RoofMap does one thing Fergus does not: the roof itself — measuring it, counting the material, and putting a proposal in front of the homeowner.

I run Tradify or ServiceM8. What now?

RoofMap works standalone today, so nothing is stopping you. Tell us what you run in Settings → Job Management Software and it goes on the build list — that answer is the main thing deciding what gets integrated next.

Try it on one of your own roofs.
